International guest lutenist Orí Harmelin joins members of Cleveland’s acclaimed early music chamber ensemble Les Délices for “Time Stands Still,” an intimate new program of songs and instrumental music from seventeenth-century England that urges us to seek solace, hold hope, and create community. Together with Harmelin, Elena Mullins Bailey (soprano), Debra Nagy (recorders), and Rebecca Landell (viola da gamba) take listeners on a journey beginning with John Dowland’s famous lute songs “Flow My Tears” and “In Darkness Let Me Dwell” (marking the 400th anniversary of Dowland's death in 2026) and ending with Henry Purcell’s beguiling “Music For a While” and his hope-filled “Evening Hymn.”
This event is presented in collaboration with the Erie Philharmonic.
