The Cummings Gallery at Mercyhurst University is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibit, the 2026 Senior Art Thesis Show, showcasing the talents, work, and growth of graduating seniors in the Department of Art, Design, and Communication. This highly anticipated annual show offers a unique opportunity to experience the culmination of years of dedication, research, and artistic development by the future art professionals Mercyhurst has produced.
The 2026 Senior Art Thesis Show will be open from April 10-24, 2026. Cummings Art Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 2-6 p.m. The reception is on April 18, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. It will feature a compelling collection of works across a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, photography, and mixed media, and others. Each piece represents the individual artistic journey of the graduating seniors. The collective works reflect a student’s exploration of various themes, concepts, and techniques within their chosen area of study with mentorship by Mercyhurst faculty.
"The Senior Thesis Show is a testament to the hard work, passion, and artistic growth of our graduating students," says Matthew Coté, director of Cummings Gallery. "Visitors will be impressed by the depth and breadth of their creative explorations and the maturity of their artistic voices."
The Mercyhurst Department of Art, Design, and Communication emphasizes hands-on learning, craftsmanship, and design, and strives for excellence in the production of art. This exhibition provides a platform for these students to share their unique perspectives and make their mark on the art world.
This event is free and open to the public.
