The Yellow Chair is a group exhibition presented by Erie Open Figure Sessions. “We are a community of both professional and amateur artists who meet weekly to draw the nude human figure.” - Kris Risto, EOFS organizer. The group was founded by the artist Alison Stinely, Mercyhurst Art Instructor, in 2014. For the past 11 years, Erie Open Figure Sessions gathered to practice, explore, and develop their craft through live model sessions.
“A frequent fixture in our studio is a yellow chair, often used as a prop to seat the model.” – Kris Risto. The Yellow Chair exhibition showcases a selection of sketches and finished works created by session artists. Each piece captures a moment of observation, study, and interpretation.
The exhibition is open Nov. 6 to Dec. 5. Cummings Art Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 2-6 p.m. The reception is open Nov. 13, from 4-6 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public.
